Was His Name Really "the LORD"? The Oldest Writing in History Says Yahuah

Most people have never once seen the Creator's real name. They have only seen a title sitting in the place where His name used to be, and nobody ever told them somebody moved it. So let us start where it really starts. The oldest place. The very beginning.

His name, in the oldest writing we have

Long before English, and even before the Square Script most people know today, His name was already being written. The form it was written in first is called the Paleo Script. These are the ancient letters, the oldest way His name was ever put down in history.

Here is His name in all three forms, so you can see it with your own eyes:

The Paleo and the square read from right to left. Same name. Same four letters. The Paleo is simply the older one. It came first. And that matters, because when people argue about His name, they almost always start in the wrong place, in the later writings, or in English. Go back to where the writing actually begins, and His name is already sitting there.

This is old, and you can prove it

This is not a story somebody made up. You can go check it for yourself.

In the Dead Sea Scrolls, copies of the writings made more than two thousand years ago, His name is right there on the page. And look at what the writers did. On some of those scrolls the whole page is written in the square letters, but the moment they reach His name, they stop and write it in the old Paleo letters instead. They would not let His name be written in the everyday script. They set it apart from every other word around it.

Sit with that for a second. Two thousand years ago, the people copying the text treated His name as too set-apart to write like a normal word. Today most people carry a Bible that took it out completely. Something changed along the way. It was not the scroll.

What they put there instead

Open almost any English Bible and look for the word "LORD" in small capital letters. It is on nearly every page. That word is standing in a spot where the text does not say "lord" at all. It says the name. Those four letters. Yahuah.

It happened almost seven thousand times. Not once or twice. Almost seven thousand times His name was lifted out and the title "LORD" was dropped on top of it. All this time you were reading a title and believing it was His name.

The text calls it a name, not a title

He was not quiet about this. In Shamuth (Exodus) 3:15 He says plainly that this is His name forever, to be remembered from generation to generation.

Forever. Every generation. That was the instruction. Taking it out is the exact opposite of that.

They already had a word for "lord"

Here is what shows it was a choice and not an accident.

Lashon Qanaʿan already had a word for lord or master. It is adon. It existed. It was used all the time. When the writers meant "master," they wrote adon. When they meant His name, they wrote Yahuah. Two different words, and they never mixed them up.

So nobody was stuck. Nobody was missing a word. They had "lord" for when they meant lord, and they had the name for when they meant the name. And still the name was pulled out and the title put in. On purpose.

What that quietly did to people

Walk into a church anywhere in the world and you will hear people pray to "the Lord." They mean well. They love Him. But they are pouring their hearts out to a title, because the name was taken before they ever opened the book.

And a title is a weak thing standing next to a name. Anybody can be a lord. There are a thousand lords and masters. "Lord" tells you a rank and nothing else. A name is personal. A name is the one thing He said to hold onto forever. Trade it for a title and the most personal word in the whole book becomes a common one. A person can follow Him their entire life and never once say the name He told them to call on.

That is what was lost. Not a small thing. His name, almost seven thousand times.

"But it is in capital letters"

Someone will say the small capitals in LORD are a hint that the name is underneath. Fair enough. It is a hint. But a hint is not a name.

If somebody erased your name off of every page of a book and wrote "THE MASTER" in its place, then explained in the front that "THE MASTER" means you, would you call that your name? You would not. He never asked for a hint. He said carry the name.

How this connects to the Turah

Here is the thread that ties it all together. The Name is not a side topic. It is written into the Turah itself. The very first of the Ten Words opens, "I am Yahuah your Alahym, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim." His instruction begins with His Name. You cannot truly keep the Turah while erasing the Name the Turah is given in. Nearly seven thousand times His Name is signed across the scrolls, and the whole instruction is His, spoken in His Name. Take the Name out, and people are left holding a book without knowing whose voice is in it. Everything in the scriptures connects back to the Turah, and the Turah is signed, from its very first Word, with the Name Yahuah.

Let us be honest about what we can and cannot say

The truth does not need us to stretch it.

What we can prove: the four letters are in the text almost seven thousand times. The oldest copies we have carry the name, sometimes written in the old Paleo letters. The text calls it a name. Lashon Qanaʿan had its own word for lord, adon. English printed a title where the name stood.

What we do not claim: that we know the old sounds perfectly. The ancient writing gives us the letters, not every vowel. That is why we say "restored as Yahuah." We are not adding anything to the text. We are handing you back what was taken out of it.

Now sit with it

You were given a title and told it was His name. The name He said to remember forever was taken out almost seven thousand times and covered with a word that men chose.

Do not take my word for it. Go look. Find "the LORD" in the small capitals in your own Bible. Underneath every single one of them stands His name. Then ask the one question nobody in that building ever asked you:

If they were willing to remove His name almost seven thousand times, what else were you never shown?
