Malakiym Aleph 8:46–50 (1 Kings)
"When they Khata against You, for there is no Adam who does not Khata, and You become angry with them and give them before an enemy, and their captors carry them captive to the land of the enemy, far or near, and they return it to their Labab in the land where they were taken captive, and Shub, and plead with You in the land of their captors, saying, 'We have Khata, we have committed ʿAwun, we have acted Rashaʿ', and they Shub to You with all their Labab and all their Naphash in the land of their enemies who carried them captive, and pray toward their land that You gave their fathers, the city You chose, and the house I built for Your Sham, then Shama their prayer and their plea in the Shamayim, Your dwelling place, and ʿAsah their Mishpat, and forgive Your people who Khata against You, and all their Pashaʿim by which they Pashaʿ against You, and give them compassion before their captors so that they may have compassion upon them."
Meaning
To miss the mark, to sin; failing to meet Yahuah's standard. Khataim are sins.
Man, a human being, humankind.
Heart, inner mind, intention, and will; the seat of thought and choice.
To turn back, return, repent; to turn from a wrong way back to Yahuah.
Iniquity, guilt, crookedness; twisted wrongdoing together with its guilt.
Living being, life, self, or person; not the later idea of an immortal, detachable soul.
Name; not a mere label but identity, reputation, and authority.
To hear, listen, heed, and respond; hearing that carries the expected obedience.
The heavens, the sky.
To do, make, or accomplish; to put a matter into practice.
Judgment, just ruling, ordinance; the right verdict and the way of justice. Plural Mishpatim.
Transgression, rebellion; a willful breaking of the covenant. Pashaʿim are transgressions.
