Dabarim 4:1–2 (Deuteronomy)
And now, Yashar'al, Shama the Khukim and the Mishpatim that I am teaching you to ʿAsah, so that you may live, enter, and possess the land Yahuah, the Alahym of your fathers, is giving you. You shall not add to the Dabar that I command you, nor take away from it, so that you may guard the Mitswuth of Yahuah your Alahym that I command you.
Meaning
Yashar'al, the covenant people; those who persevere with El.
To hear, listen, heed, and respond; hearing that carries the expected obedience.
A prescribed statute, an engraved decree fixed by Yahuah. Plural Khukim; feminine Khukah.
Judgment, just ruling, ordinance; the right verdict and the way of justice. Plural Mishpatim.
To do, make, or accomplish; to put a matter into practice.
The personal Name of the Creator, written with the four letters yod, he, waw, he. It is His Name, not a title.
The Mighty One; the plural-form title expressing full might and authority, used of Yahuah.
Word, matter, thing spoken; a command or message from Yahuah. Plural Dabarim.
Commandment, charge; something commanded. Plural Mitswuth.
