Why Was Chrysostom So Angry? Were Christianoi Still Going to Yahudi Festivals?

Yes, possibly more revealing than the insults. He tells us why he preaches: people inside his own ranks were participating in Yahudi observances.

In Homily 1 he says Yahudi festivals were approaching, then admits people who claimed to share his beliefs were going to watch the festivals and joining Yahudim in keeping their appointed celebrations and fasts. Chronology: Nicaea had happened, Constantine had ruled, Pasakh separation had been promoted, Laodicea had issued anti-Judaizing restrictions, yet Chrysostom still had Christianoi in Antioch participating.

Practices mentioned across the series: Yahudi fasts, festivals, synagogue attendance, cross-community interaction. Does not prove they were secretly Yashar'alites, the source establishes behavior, not ancestry: people Chrysostom identified as his Christianoi community were participating in Yahudi religious life.

Matters because separation was not automatic; authorities were still working to enforce boundaries, if everyone had abandoned these practices he would have had little reason to preach a whole series.
