The passage does not leave that love as a private feeling. It commands that the words be kept on the heart, taught to children, spoken in the home and on the road, and written where the eyes fall daily. Love in this passage already carries obedience inside it, because the same breath that says love Him says keep His words present in every part of ordinary life.
Dabarim (Deuteronomy) 10:12-13 asks plainly what Yahuah requires, and answers with a short list that binds the inner and outer life together, to fear Him, to walk in His ways, to love Him, to serve Him, and to guard His commands. The passage closes by saying these commands are given for the good of the one who keeps them, so obedience is framed as benefit rather than burden.
Dabarim (Deuteronomy) 30:15-20 sets life and good against death and harm and calls for a choice. To choose life in this passage is described as loving Yahuah, obeying His voice, and holding fast to Him. Love and obedience are not separated into two acts, they are named as one movement toward life.
Yahukhanan (John) 14:15 and 14:21 carry the same pattern into the later writings. The one who loves is described as the one who guards the commands, and the one who holds and keeps them is named as the one who truly loves. 1 Yahukhanan (1 John) 5:2-3 states directly that love for Alahym is shown by guarding His commands, and adds that these commands are not heavy.
