In Barashiyth (Genesis) 4:8-10, after Qayin kills his brother Habel in the field, Yahuah says the voice of his brother's blood is crying out to Him from the ground. The scene sets the pattern the whole song rests on. Spilled blood is not merely lost life, it is a witness that Yahuah hears, a testimony that reaches Him even when no human eye saw the act.
From that first cry the song moves to blood as a deliberate sign. In Shamuth (Exodus) 12:7 and 12-13, Yahuah instructs Yashar'al to place blood on the doorposts of their houses, and He promises that when He sees the blood He will pass over that house so the judgment moving through Mitsrayim does not fall on them. Here blood is no longer only a witness against wrongdoing, it becomes a mark of protection, a boundary Yahuah Himself reads and honors.
WaYiqra (Leviticus) 17:11 gives the reason underneath both scenes. It states plainly that the life of the flesh is in the blood, and that Yahuah has given it upon the altar to make covering for lives. Blood carries life, and because it carries life it can stand in the place of covering. This is why the earlier passages work the way they do.
Ibrim (Hebrews) 12:22-24 closes the arc by pointing to blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Habel. Where Habel's blood cried out for account, this speaks of a settled reckoning rather than an open wound. The song holds these two voices side by side, the blood that cries for justice and the blood that speaks something better, both of them heard by Yahuah.
